Anytime Before 10.00am Private transport from San Jose to La Fortuna
Private Transport from San Jose or Liberia Airports or San Jose Hotels to Arenal Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of tropical mountains and farms as you drive to the Arenal region. Our driver will greet you at the airport or your hotel and help you with your luggage. He’ll be happy to stop for bathroom, food or photo breaks along the way.
3.30pm Liquid Lava Volcano Hike and Baldi or Los Lagos Hot Springs
(For $61 extra we can upgrade your hot springs to The Springs Resort)
A visit to Costa Rica is not complete without seeing Arenal's exciting volcano! Hike through lush rainforest with an experienced naturalist, bilingual guide who will point out flora and fauna in the primary and secondary rainforest that lines the base of the Arenal Volcano. You'll then arrive at the observation point - the closest you can get to the base of Arenal Volcano and wait for the sun to set. As it starts to get dark, on clear nights, you can see Central America's most-active volcano and if you're lucky, you may be able to hear explosions.
Duration: 1.5-2 hours of an easy hike (although there are some muddy sections and a little uphill)

Day 2
11.00am Rio Balsa White Water Rafting Class II/III OR 8.30am Rio Toro White Water Rafting Class III/IV for $20 extra
Challenge yourself as you paddle through fun & safe rolling rapids with names like “Morning Coffee” & “Rock around the Croc” and then play around in tranquil river pools in an isolated rainforest river canyon! Your professional, experienced bilingual guides will give you a safety talk and paddling instruction, lifejackets, helmets & then you’re off…
Hopefully you’ll get to see lots of wildlife like monkeys, sloths and tropical birds such as ospreys, oropendolas and toucans. This unique river trip is the best way to combine adventure and nature.
OR change to White Water Rafting Class III/IV for $20 extra . Full day tour with 2.5 - 3 hours of non-stop whitewater action!! The river canyon includes exotic wildlife and continuous rapids. The tour id run by the very experienced and safety-conscious, Desafo Adventure Company, departs from your hotel about 8:30am and returns around 4:00 pm. The tour includes tropical fruit fiesta and a delicous hot 'casado' lunch.

Arenal Volcano Hotels: La Pradera 3 nights. Or other hotel you might chose (with might have a price adjustment)
La Pradera is located only a kilometer and a half to the town of La Fortuna in the Arenal Volcano area and has basic but spacious and spotless rooms which are brightly lit with natural light that pours through large windows. Overflowing, colorful gardens frame each of La Pradera's cabins. Ferns, heliconias, birds of paradise and many other varieties of Costa Rica flora, as well Arenal Volcano views make rocking on the porch or sitting poolside a nice way to pass the time. The hotel includes private parking, cable TV, air conditioning, and private bath with hot water. Hotel La Pradera also has a restaurant, bar and Internet service available on the property.
Hotel Verde Mar : 3 nights
Hotel Verde Mar is located on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica and 5 kilometers away from the town of Quepos. Hotel Verde Mar is situated a 5-10 minute walk from the entrance to the most famous national park in the country. The hotel has a barefoot relaxed ambiance with a jungle paradise feel, with easy access to great restaurants and entertainment. The hotel is not deluxe; the rooms are basic but roomy and comfortable with a/c and a little kitchenette plus a nice pool and best of all, one of the few hotels in manuel antonio only steps away from the beach!

Not Included: Flights to Costa Rica, evening meals and some lunches/brealfasts, optional tours or transportation to other places not included in the schedule
What to Bring: T-shirts, shorts, long pants for riding, sweater or light jacket, sandals, light hiking boots, rain jacket, sun screen, insect repellant, any personal medication, swimming wear, towel, riding hat if you want one (they are not compulsory in Costa Rica), traveler's insurance (to include white-water rafting and horse riding), full passport (a driving license is not sufficient), traveler's checks and a credit card (VISA, other cards are difficult to use in Monteverde).
NOTE: Adventure tours such as whitewater rafting, horse riding, kayaking, canyoneering and hiking require physical effort. Clients should be in good condition. For client safety and enjoyment, Desafio Adventure Company reserves the right to offer a substitution, postpone, change or cancel any tour due to unfavorable conditions.
