Hotel La Fortuna is one of the first hotels in La Fortuna, Arenal. When it was knocked down and completely re-built a couple of years ago the hotel decided to concentrate on offering a wheel chair accessible hotel with the motto ‘tourism without limits”. Hotel La Fortuna has 44 rooms. 12 of these has wheel chair access and a unique elevator (rare in Costa Rica!). Hotel La Fortuna has a central location offering guests all the services available from a small tourist town, including tour offices, a lovely plaza/park area, restaurants and stores. The 5 storey building offers great views of the surrounding area from its balconies.
The small town of La Fortuna is only 15 minutes from the various Arenal hot springs in the zone giving the hotel a good location to explore the Arenal Volano area with its many tour activities such as volcano lava viewing, white water rafting, canyoning, canopy tours, safari boat trips, horse riding and community/art tours.
Hotel La Fortuna has a popular open restaurant and bar as well as coffee areas on each floor. The hotel also provides wireless internet and private parking.
Aware of the noise from the surrounding downtown area Hotel La Fortuna provides all rooms with sound proofing. The accommodation also has room service, cable television, a/c and telephone.
There are several classes of rooms at Hotel La Fortuna:
- Standard rooms with view. These have a queen size or a queen size bed and a single bed and have balconies that face the volcano
- Standard room. These also have a view of the volcano but are on the 5th floor and only have one queen size bed.
- Special room. Accommodation for people with special needs which confirm with Costa Rican law for disability. Some of the rooms have mountain views.
- Standard Superior. Located on 5th floor, some with Arenal Volcano views.
