Lost Iguana Resort has some of the most beautiful luxury hotel rooms in the Arenal Volcano area. The carefully manicured gardens, stone inlaid pool and thatched roof restaurant blend modern convenience and tropical energy in a unique way. The upscale rooms are complete with amenities but construction and decor place emphasis on natural materials. Local and international artwork are displayed throughout the hotel.

The hotel has 4 types of accommodation:

• standard deluxe
• luxury suite
• celebrity suite
• las casitas

   The large standard deluxe rooms have 1 king size bed or two full size beds with brightly colored bedspreads, lively paintings and assorted hand made furniture, fabricated out of natural wood. Spacious tiled balconies have leather rocking chairs from which you can enjoy views of the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. Rooms are equipped with phones, cable television, air conditioning and large bathrooms. Plus:

• coffee service, mini bar, mini-fridge, safty deposit box
• private balcony with Arenal Volcano view

The luxury suites have all the amenities of the standard deluxe rooms plus:

• dining area and sitting areas
• jacuzzi bath on deck with jungle and Arenal Volcano views
• valuted wood ceilings on upstairs units
• outside garden shower in first floor units

Celebrity Suites are located in a peaceful and beautiful secluded area. Each villa has a perfect view of Arenal Volcano. There are 4 villas with 2 bedrooms each and there are 2 different room plans (A and B - see below).. Both have master bedrooms that are breathtaking and original. The most striking element is a stone walled shower full of live plants. The dual headed shower is covered by only a mosquito net allowing light and air (and even rain) to enter, creating an outdoor shower effect. Additionally, the suite has a king size bed, outdoor Jacuzzi, spacious balcony and kitchenette. Of course, the master suite also has cable television, air conditioning and phone. No expense has been spared as evidenced by the quality artwork, hand made furniture and hand painted washbasin in the kitchenette.

Plan A - Master bedroom with king bed, large bathroom with outdoor lava rock shower, balcony with Volcano view and jacuzzi and sitting and eating areas. The connecting room has a full bed, bunk bed, full bath and separate entrance door. This does not have a volcano view.

Plan B - Large Master bedroom with king bed. Large bathroom with outdoor lava rock shower and huge balony/patio with jacuzzi. Second bedroom has 2 full size bed, view of the volcano and full bath. Bedrooms open to a spacious living room and balcony. Eating area and kitchenette with stove top, fridge, microwave and coffee service

Las Casitas - located in a separate building, high in a hill with outstanding views of Arenal Volcano and surrounding jungle areas. Each unit has a large master bedroom with bathroom, living room and small second bedroom which has bunk beds. There is a half bath off the living room and a hung balcony/patio with extra large jacuzzi. Also has fridge, micorwave and coffee service.

   The grounds of Lost Iguana Resort are substantial, including hiking trails and wooded areas for people interested in bird watching or searching for monkeys. The hotel lies 17 kilometers from the town center of La Fortuna and transportation to and from the hotel is an extra expense to be considered if you do have your own transportation.
