Costa Rica has some of the most-beautiful scenery for mountain biking. We’ll get you fitted to your bike and you and your guide will ride along moderate-level rolling hills on well-maintained country roads with views of the behemoth Arenal Volcano and spectacular jungle all around you.
Experienced Level Along Lake Arenal to Monteverde (to Monteverde only, tour not available from Monteverde to Arenal)
A great challenge for the more-experienced bike rider looking for a fun way of travelling to Monteverde. Desafio Adventure company has 16 brand new Trek suspension bikes with top of the line Bell Helmets.
Departs: 8:30am
Duration: approx. 3-hours on bike and the tour is 5.5 hours in total. Includes: Brand-name, professional suspension mountain bikes, gloves, helmets, bike guide, transport, water break, snack.
Price: $85 including all transport, luggage transfer, equipment, guide and a fruit/water snack.
Note: we can make arrangements for more-demanding rides and special equipment needs. Please ask for special trip quote.
Notes about children:
The smallest bike is about 50cm - the helmet can be adjusted to fit a small head, but it's a challenging ride - recommended for no younger than 13 unless a good rider.
In Case of Problems -- we use a spare vehicle/boat - this can be pulled up in case of problems with additional bike on hand and guides carry basic spare parts, but the big stuff goes on the boat and guides also carry first aid kits.
