Arenal Tours and Actitivities: Things to do in the Arenal Volcano Area

Make the most of your time in Arenal! Don’t miss the new all day Nature Combination guided tour which includes 6 great nature-based activities. Learn about Costa Rica’s natural history as you spot various types of fauna and flora. The tour includes a guided hike to exclusive waterfalls in the Lost Canyon and time to bath in the pools. After your hike don’t worry if you’re hungry as the lunch is an ‘all you can eat’ homemade lunch.

Also included is.a hike to the Arenal Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world and to finish off your tour we head to the new luxurious hot springs at ‘the Springs Resort & Spa’ where you can relax in the many hot pools, drink cocktails at the swim up bar and soak up the atmosphere and views of the volcano. After a generous buffet dinner we take you back to your hotel. Below are more details of each part of the tour:

Eco-Center Danaus - Tours starts with a pick-up from your hotel and a short journey to well-know Eco-Center Danaus to visit an amazing collection of butterflies and other wildlife set in tropical gardens
Next we'll take you for a fun 4x4 ride with great view points of the surrounding country side until we get to the Lost Canyon. A beautiful isolated canyon surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. On arrival at the Lost Canyon we'll set off to see some of the Lost Canyon Waterfalls set in the jungle. We'll hike down to the base of one of the largest waterfalls in Arenal Volcano area. There will be time to bathe in the waterfall's natural pools plus picture opportunities galore! The hike back up is 20 minutes which will be done slowly as the guide points out any fauna and flora of interest.
After the hike back up the canyon we'll set off to enjoy a delicious home made lunch (there are vegetarian options available).
Late afternoon we take you to a visit to Arenal Volcano where we'll do an easy-going hike along the base of this famous volcano with some time at the look-out point to watch for volcanic activity.. Learn about the volcano's history and about the wildlife that live in the area that surround the volcano.
What visit to the Arenal Volcano area would be complete without a visit to one of the hot springs in the area? We'll take you to the beautiful 'The Springs Resort & Spa' - pure luxury! Here you'll have plenty of time to relax in a series of hot springs and isolated areas pools and waterfalls. Don't miss the swim-up bars!
The Spring’s Resort & Spa is a great place to dine and here you'll enjoy a great buffet dinner before your trip back to your hotel.
